The Old and the restless - aging with attitude

“The Old and the Restless: Aging with Attitude” is a humorous and informative presentation to help us grow older and thrive with a good attitude and positive energy. Let’s make our future the best it can be!
Bette Davis said it best, "Growing old ain't for sissies." But then growing older is a privilege not everybody gets. I advocate celebrating birthdays. Especially the ones where you get one candle.
As a T'ai Chi instructor, I bring a little T'ai Chi to every presentation. Balance (physical and mental), moving (and thinking) with purpose, physical and mental connections and much, much more. It's good stuff!
Change is our biggest challenge. Change in physical capabilities, living status, relationships, change in, well, everything. Change is always a challenge, but especially as we get older. How will we handle change? With grump and anger or with grace and acceptance?
Some truisms are, in fact true. But some are outright lies. For example, 'You can't teach an old dog new tricks.' Everyone's heard it and most people believe it. The most polite response I can have is, "NONSENSE!" Just getting folks to consider rejecting that untruth is a big step forward. We're gonna to send that one packing. Once we do good things begin to happen! I advocate having goals and dreams no matter what our age.
'Aging With Attitude' is a humorous and thought-provoking presentation. I deal with some tough issues and ask some challenging questions. In the end I want people to feel good and a bit challenged. I leave the audience energized and feeling positive. I expect them to do something new and different in the days following.
I get people up and moving with some T'ai Chi, but it's not the least bit strenuous and anyone (yes, anyone) can do T'ai Chi. The presentation is designed to run 45 to 90 minutes.
